Launched in 2001, the .NAME generic domain name extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer code from the current domain provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no particular rules on who can secure a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
